Bears sign WR Alshon Jeffery
The Chicago Bears are well-known for being among the first teams to sign all their drafted players every year. This trend continued Wednesday when they signed second round wide receiver Alshon Jeffery to a four-year contract. Jeffery, the outstanding South Carolina product, becomes the first member of the 2012 draft class to sign a contract and will vie for a starting spot opposite Brandon Marshall, who was traded to the Bears from Miami earlier this offseason.
Rahim Moore, the 2011 draft's 45th player selected (same slot as Jeffery), received a four-year contract worth $4.448 million including a $1.73 million signing bonus. Expect Jeffery's contract to come in just above that of Moore's.
